Tick control starts with the animal: its sleeping place, where it moves, and the vet
Ticks come into the home with the animal. That is why the treatment works on both together: we spray the place where the dog or cat sleeps and the areas it moves through, and the animal is treated by a vet at the same time. Without the vet, ticks keep coming back on the animal.
How to tell you have ticks
- Ticks found on the animal after time in the garden or on a terrace.
- Ticks between the toes, under the collar or around the tail when you check the animal by hand.
- A tick attached to your own skin behind the knee or around the waist after sitting near the animal's bed.
- The animal scratching at the ears and between the toes.
- Activity concentrated where the animal sleeps rather than where it plays.
Why supermarket sprays do not work
A spot-on treatment or a bath protects the animal for a while, and a supermarket spray removes what is visible at that moment. Ticks come in with the animal and settle where it sleeps and moves, so if the animal is not treated by a vet and those places are not treated with it, the ticks come back. The two have to be done together.
What the technician actually does
- The technician inspects the area where the animal sleeps and the routes it takes through the home.
- The sleeping place and the areas the animal moves through are sprayed.
- Bedding and any soft material in the animal's area is treated or removed.
- The terrace and garden edge get treated where the animal spends time.
- A follow-up visit fifteen days later with a preventive spray, while the animal stays under the vet's care.
One to two hours depending on how much outdoor area is involved. Activity drops quickly indoors and more slowly on a terrace.
The written guarantee on ticks
The 5-year written guarantee covers ticks returning in the treated property.
What we cannot do
We do not treat the animal itself. That is a vet's job and we will say so. If the animal keeps picking up ticks from a shared garden or a walking route, the property treatment holds but the source outside it does not change.
How the price is set
Two things set it: the floor area, and how far the infestation has spread by the time we inspect. A flat with a single focus point is not the same job as a villa with activity on two floors, and the gap between them is wide.
